About the Cow Omelet Series
A Little Bit of History
The Cow Omelet Series was originally created by airhorns.
What began as a simple anagram based geocaching idea
has grown into a UK wide series enjoyed by geocachers across the country.
This website is maintained by TheSpecialAgents
to promote the series, support its growing community and encourage more geocachers to get involved.
What Is the Cow Omelet Series?
COW OMELET is an anagram of WELCOME TO and that's the idea behind the series!
Take the name of a town, village or city, rearrange its letters into a new name, and turn it into a geocache.
Find the cache, solve the anagram and discover the location you are being welcomed to.
From funny names to unexpected destinations, every Cow Omelet offers a little puzzle
and an opportunity to explore somewhere new.
Where Should a Cow Omelet Be Placed?
The original concept is to welcome geocachers to a location.
Wherever possible, caches should be placed near a genuine welcome sign,
village entrance sign to the town or village.
If the ideal spot isn't suitable, a nearby alternative may work,
provided it maintains a clear connection to the entrance or welcome sign.
COW OMELET means WELCOME TO, not ANYWHERE IN!
Create Your Own Cow Omelet
Anyone can contribute to the series. Choose a location, create a genuine anagram using exactly the same letters, find a suitable hiding place and give your cache its own personality.
We encourage cache owners to create fun, individual artwork to accompany their listings, but above all, keep the original idea alive.
All caches must follow the usual Geocaching guidelines and have any necessary permissions.
Go to the How to hide page for more details.
